Find More Rocks: Part One.

Walk in to almost any investment firm office, you're likely to see a placard or art piece paying homage to Peter Lynch; Investor, Mutual Fund Manager and Philanthropist. One of his most popular quotes -"the person that turns over the most rocks, wins the game."

We're all turning over rocks for any dollar that shows potential for budgetary growth.

Even in today's supply chain deficits, rocks remain plentiful. They always will. It's finding the golden ones that have become an ever greater challenge.

According to economic analysts, here are just a few recession proof industries (rocks).

Real Estate.

One of the biggest supply deficits is housing. Even with rising interest rates, it remains a seller's market. It's also created an even greater demand for rental properties.

We're seeing a trend where bigger firms like Keller Williams market their strategies of "we'll buy your home outright, no inspections and no appraisal." Even though the individual agent may not have those resources, they can apply their own personality and tout strengths based on a strong market. These campaigns are an ideal multi-platform success story. The radio can work in concert with the digital.

For home selling: "When you're on a tight budget, living in Highland Lakes seems out of reach. And why not? They have outstanding schools, quiet and clean streets with beautiful homes. Hi, I'm Renee Stillwater with Friendly Real Estate Resource Group. I have a beautiful four bedroom, three bath home for just $475,000. This motivated seller is relocating. Now is your chance. Come take a virtual tour of this great opportunity at Renee Helps Buyers dot com. You can also see it on Facebook at....

For property recruitment: "There's a growing family that needs a four-bedroom home in the Grants Mill area. Can you help? Hi, I'm Renee Stillwater with Friendly Real Estate Resource Group. The Andrews have two kids and recently found out another is on the way. Their budget is between 400 and 475 thousand. If you're thinking about downsizing, here's your chance to get maximum profit, while helping a young family at the same time."

Pet Retail and Services.

We all love our pets. Interesting fact: millennials and Gen Z outpace their predecessors in pet ownership. They're also budgeting more for their furry pals than Gen X and Boomers combined.

Their biggest hot button in choosing veterinary care is simple: bedside manner. This generation knows that almost all vets are trained the same and meet state board standards. Their strong emotional ties regard pets as family. Therefore, this is a very emotional choice. Boomers and Gen X primarily relied on word-of-mouth for recommendations. The digital absorbed generations now look to social media.

Multi platform opportunity:

Chances are good that one of your air staff members has a pet. Line up an endorsement.

"My cats love me. They show it in the sound of their purrs, their playfulness. So, it's only right I keep that love flowing. Hi, it's WZZK's Dana. The only vet my booba kitties see is Dr. Michael Livengood at Village Animal Hospital. He has a few cats of his own. So, he's especially gentle with mine. They've actually gotten used to their regular check-ups; probably because he gives them cat nip toys afterwards. And, should anything come up after hours, Dr. Mike gave me an emergency number to contact him. Head to my Facebook page. You can see photos and videos of my fur balls being clowns. And you'll find Dr. Mike's contact info."

This would also work in agricultural heavy markets.

"Ok. I don't have cows. But, I do have a horse. Hey, it's Rick Moore. My quarter horse, Fred has become a big fan of his personal veterinarian, Dr. Tim Blake. Dr. Tim has this horse whisperer thing going on --just like the guy in the movie. Come see for yourself on my Facebook page. I've shot some video of how well Fred and Dr. Tim get along. And Dr. Tim gives some easy-to-follow tips on equine health."

Repair Industry and Renovations.

Part of the reason why there's a supply crunch in housing, people know they may get a good return on their sale, yet, they'll have to find another suitable place to live. That's why more home owners are opting for repairs and renovations. Digital is great because it can show the before and after photos or even video. Radio can drive traffic to the digital.

"(announcer introduces happy client of construction firm)

It was time to move my Dad in with us. We had enough square footage. But, Dad likes his alone time. Rather than go find a different house, we had Blake Builders come in and transform our fourth bedroom into it's own little apartment. It works out great. He gets time with us and the kids. Then, he can go take a nap or read in peace and not be disturbed by my teenage boys playing World of Warcraft. Another huge benefit is they way it increased our homes value. Come, take a look now at My Dad's New Pad dot com."

I hope you're getting the picture. For the sake of your time, I've made this a four part series. Hopefully you'll have a new title in addition to account executive. Let's call it media geologist.

Happy rock hunting.
