The analogy means this. When I write and produce for you, and it turns out it’s not what you or the client were looking for, please, let me know. It’s not going to hurt my feelings. Trust me. I wouldn’t have survived 35 plus years in this business if I couldn’t handle direction. You and I are partners looking to achieve the same goals. We want happy clients so we can retain them.

I would do the same for you.

Production Network is here to be one of your main assets. We love collaboration. I certainly do. Even if you need to tell me “I think something’s missing here or I’m not sure my client would appreciate this, I need to know these things so I can help.

That’s why, after I write your script, I mark the PO in vCreative Script Review. It gives you an opportunity to make sure it’s the direction you and your client are looking for.

My only objective is to assist you in closing more contracts, maintaining your current ones, and hopefully growing budgets along the way.

In production network, a big part of our success is determined by how many more deals are closed –especially when it comes to specs.

Here in Birmingham, it’s not unusual for a spec or even an existing account to go through two or three revisions before it’s approved and closes. That involves feedback from either the client or just the AE. It can be anything from we prefer it worded this way rather than what’s here to we really feel our target will better be reached if we change it to this. That’s just part of the job. I don’t take it personally. No one is saying “damn, your ideas suck!”

If you have your car serviced, and it continues to not operate the way you want, you’d bring it back, right?

This is no different.

This is business. It doesn’t hurt my feelings.

Besides, I like interacting with you. It gives me an opportunity to get to know you. And I like people.
